Twilight(2008)

When I first saw trailer of this movie, I thought I won't watch this teen-action-fantasy movie.Its a fantasy alright, but rather a humorous comedy. I saw this movie 4 times in theater so far(and waiting for DVD prices to come down to own one), courtesy 1.5$ ticket price @Carmike Cinemas. I went crazy after this movie that I have a poster of it in my room as well. :-).(what to do I can't find posters of Rahul Dravid or Lance Armstrong). I remember many dialogues, but won't quote them as I guess they are good when watched in the context of the movie.

Like any novel adaptation, the dialogues are nicely written and give an occasional chuckle. It's a unique concept wherein "a Lion Falls in love with a Lamb, rather a stupid Lamb,and a Sick Masochist Lion". Kristen Stewart looks pretty as Bella even though most of the attention went to Robert Pattinson(cast as Edward).

My favourite scenes in the movie are:
a. When Bella's classmate expresses discontent over her friendship with Edward.("Hey Arizona whats happening.. you and Edward.. huh... I don't like it"). I like the way he says it with a casual laugh.
b. When Edward jumps onto bella's car in the scene wherin he asks her for a date to meet his family and the subsequent dialogue sequence.
c. The scene inwhich Edwards family plays baseball.

After watching this movie, I guess reading the book might be boring and predictable. I am not sure if the sequel of this would be as good too. Trailer looks boring and violent.

Reality Bites(1994)

I rented this DVD hoping that Winona Ryder has some significant star cast at least in this movie. It sure did. It's a better movie than I thought, for a commercial flop like most of Winona's movies. It depicts the modern(in 1990's) American youth with a touch of idealism.

I watch this movie again for arguments and dialogues between Troy(played by Ethan Hawke), Liliane(Winona Ryder) and Michael(Ben stiller). A few of my personal favourites are;

Troy - "Hello, you've reached the winter of our discontent.",
"I am not under orders to make this world a better place",
"At the beep, please leave your name, number and a brief justification of the ontological necessity of modern man's existential dilemma and we'll get back to you."

Liliane- "you are a pathological pessimist",
"welcome to the world of emotionally mature, its really a nice place to be"
"money, what's money for an artist, just a piece of green paper which comes and goes in life like snow".
