Elizabethtown(2005)

I lost interest in writing blogs for a while. But, last weekend I was reading my own blogs and enjoyed reading'em as much as watching those movies.

The movie starts with Orlando bloom getting pink slip. He designs a novel shoe thats supposed to make people feel like flying on clouds. It brings 900+ millon dollar loss. His girl friend lets him go on the same day. He dumps all his furniture and clothes in trash and decides to kick the bucket. At that very moment he gets a phone call that his dad passed away and he's to bring the body back home from Elizabethtown. Till now, its like those good old hindi/telugu movies when all troubles be-fall on the same day for a super hero. :)

On his way to Elizabethtown, he meets air hostess kirsten dunst and she strengthens his belief in importance of greatness to success. Its mostly a routine romantic comedy, fiction(for sure). I probably won't watch it for 3rd time, unless I am alone on a solitary spring rainy friday evening. :). Oh btw, I took a long(7 hour) solitary road trip, last saturday. Hmm, some how not so much fun for me. :(.

I liked the movie for its inspiring dialogues. A few are here: a) You wanna be really great? Then have the courage to fail big and stick around. Make them wonder why you're still smiling.
b) Sadness is easier because it's surrender. I say, make time to dance alone with one hand waving free.
c) A fiasco is a failure of Epic proportions. A fiasco is a story that other people tell themselves, to feel better, because it didn't happen to them... No true fiasco ever began as a quest for mere adequacy.

Here's the ending of movie :
